Choppin’ Chief

Choppin’ Chief was a game project during my vocational training at bib international college. The Game is a 2 1/2D Puzzle Jump & Run with RPG elements.
The Argonath

In this project, I recreated the iconic ‘Argonath’ scene from the Lord of the Rings in Unreal Engine 5.

The four pillars of my work
Game Design

With some hands on experience in my vocational training through Choppin’ Chief and SL4-Y3R and deepening the knowledge through work on my own game project, I learned to use a large variety of tools as a Game Designer. For brainstorming and concepts I use a mixture of Word, Excel, PureRef, Miro and different AI tools. Later on I use Unreal Engine and 3D software to bring the concept to life.
Video Editing

For my video editing, thats mostly for trailers or presentation of my projects I use Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve. A few tweaks are made with After effects later on. Additionally I use some Blender for occasional animations and OBS for some livestreams on Twitch from time to time.
Marketing

After visiting a trade school after my Abitur and studying Media and Business Psychology in Cologne, I found my passion for Marketing as addition to the Game Design. I could get much hands on experience in the game project at bib international college, where I lead the Marketing Team and got used to different kinds of Analysis strategies and reading the target group.
3D Modeling

3D Modeling was the core element of my vocational training at bib international college as well as my study time at Digital Arts and Entertainment, Howest. I learned to use all kinds of programs like Maya, 3DSMax, Blender, Unreal Engine 5, Substance Painter and many more.
Upcoming Projects
Arcane

Currently I am working on a shortfilm in which i recreate ‘the Flare’ scene from Arcane Season 1. I use mostly Blender and Unreal Engine 5 in this Project.

Project:S

Parallel to creating the short movie, I am building a small First Person Shooter at the moment. My goal is do dive into different genres, learn multiplayer aspects and projectile functions in Unreal Engine 5. This project is fully streamed on Thursdays at twitch.tv/justcaiiz.
About Me
HI! I’m Carsten and im 28 years old. My passion are games. And I am a Game Designer that finished his vocational training as Game Designer at bib international college (GPA: 1.4) in Paderborn. Additionally i did a year of study time at Digital Arts and Entertainment, Howest, in Kortrijk, Belgium. I could learn a lot about making games and concepts for other projects. The other years of my life I spend learning Economy and Media- and Businesspsychology. I also worked as metal worker, forklift driver and cashier to get some real life experience and support the financial side of my passion.
The greatest inspiration to all of my works are Riot Games, Hideo Kojima, Seo Hyun-seung, Fortiche Production and Bo Chen. Next to games my favourite things to work on are Video Projects, since I love watching good shows (Arcane is a must-watch btw.), music videos or events.
